The city of Rancho Palos Verdes is home to some 42,000 people. Incorporated in the early 70s, it is carved out of a piece of Los Angeles County, its largest border being the Pacific Ocean. Los Angeles has long been associated with endemic gang violence and crime issues. Unfortunately, for much of the city’s history, this association has been a relatively fair one.
